Covid 19 Impact Statement

The safety of our staff and customers is paramount and we have made the decision to cancel all screenings until the end of June with the majority of July screenings also cancelled/postponed. August screenings will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. This is a rapidly evolving situation and this information is subject to change at short/no notice. Updated 07 April 2020.

Some FAQs specifically related to Covid-19 are outlined below. Should you have any further questions please email tickets@sundowncinema.co.uk

  • What happens if I purchase a ticket and the event is subsequently cancelled/postponed?
    We will either honour your ticket for any booking in 2020-2021 subject to availability or refund your ticket in full
  • What happens if I am ill/self isolating or I need to care for a close family relative?
    We will either honour your ticket for any booking in 2020-2021 subject to availability or refund your ticket in full
  • My preferred venue is no longer listed/is not showing any films
    We will not be able to attend all venues this year, some venues may have films added please pop back or add your name to our mailing list.
  • I have a voucher purchased from Sundown Cinema that expires soon/I can no longer use as the films have been cancelled?
    We are automatically extending the voucher lifespan until the end of the 2021 season – you don’t need to do anything, this will be done automatically
  • I have a voucher purchased via a Third Party experience company i.e. Virgin Experience, lastminute.com etc
    You can extend your voucher free of charge fro six months via https://www.virginexperiencedays.co.uk/myvoucher. If you need to extend longer than this please get in touch with us at experience@sundowncinema.co.uk
  • We would like to book a screen hire but are worried about having to cancel?
    If your booking has to be delayed because of government restrictions around Covid-19 then we will simply rearrange your screening to a mutually convenient date with a guarantee that we will hold the price at 2020 prices even if if you need to extend into 2021
  • Will there be any restrictions/changes at events?
    It is is highly likely that there will be some changes to some of the events that we hold. This could mean that we reduce numbers to ensure that sufficient space is available on site or it may mean that we do not permit food to be consumed on site to prevent the risk of food waste being a transmission route for Covid-19. Full details of any amendments and adjustments will be based upon Government advice and guidelines.
